Take a food walk of Old Delhi and Chandni Chowk with foodie, historian, and social commentator, Vivan Marwaha. After launching itsforkinggood.com, one of Buenos Aires’ most famous food blogs, I will be conducting bespoke food tours of Delhi for foodies and travelers from inside and outside India.
History-focused food walks
Join me at Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques, for a personalized and in-depth tour and food walk of Shahjahanabad, the capital of the Mughal dynasty. Take the food walk to learn about the fascinating history of the Jama Masjid; wander narrow alleys and explore 16th-century Jain temples; drink India’s famous masala chai; eat plates of never-ending delicious street food; and pick up spices from Khari Baoli, Asia’s largest spice market.
Apart from my entertaining company, the food walk includes all street food and tea and:
- A bottle of water
- A Polaroid photo at a location of your choice
- An ornamental spice bag with a selection of spices chosen by you
Why am I different
Instead of outsourcing the food walk to an outside guide, I will be leading every walk myself. This means that you will be able to ask me any questions about the sights we will see, or Delhi, or India, or my life. Given that I grew up in Delhi, I know the city like the back of my hand, but my vast global experiences – from attending college in the United States to working in South Korea and Argentina – have allowed me to connect with people from all backgrounds.
Since each of my tours is personalized to you, we can customize the tour according to your preferences!
What does it cost and how long
$50 per person
It’s however long you want it to be! However, the ideal tour is 3.5-4 hours. This will give you enough time to soak in the charms (and aromas) of Old Delhi and Chandni Chowk, and go back home with some unforgettable experiences.
